Part 1: Cultivating Somatic Attention in Dance

In this session, we'll focus on the unique ways attention works in the context of dance. Attention is more than just a mental process; it's deeply connected to the body and how we engage with movement. Understanding the neuropsychology of somatic attention will give you valuable insights into enhancing your focus and presence while dancing. You will learn practical techniques to seamlessly integrate attention into your dance practice, transforming it from a mental burden into a natural part of your experience. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced dancer, these methods can help you cultivate a more effortless and enriching connection with your movements.

Part 2: Understanding the Neurobiology of Memory in Dance

Memory plays a crucial role in choreography and dance performance. In this session, we dive into the neurobiology of memory with a focus on motor memory—how the brain encodes and retrieves movement patterns. By understanding the complex process of memory, you will gain strategies to improve your ability to memorize choreography. You will also learn personalized techniques tailored to your individual needs, helping you overcome challenges in memorizing dance sequences and make the process smoother and more effective.

Workshop Highlights:

In-Depth Explanation: A thorough overview of attention and memory, focusing on how they relate to dance and movement.
Personalized Techniques: Practical strategies to improve both your focus and memory skills, tailored to your specific needs.
